Reasons...

I know I said that chapter 36 was on its way, and that might have felt as if I was going to update on Sunday (06). Well, chapter 36 is still on its way, and I have no idea of when I’m going to finish and post it. Most of you probably don’t care about reasons (to tell the truth, I don’t even know if this post will be read by anyone other than myself), but I do feel the need to justify my lapse and lateness. The thing is, I’ve been having ideas for years now, and those are not the writing kind, but rather the sewing kind. Those have been dorment on me for a while, but it all changed when I found an incredible blog, Bridges on the Body, where the blogger recreates classic corsets (and I have to say, they are just wonderful!). So, this brought back my own ideas of corset making. And, as anyone who read Forgotten Paradise had noticed, I have a great love/interest/addiction for corsets (probably not as great as Cait’s, for I only own one, self-made, that could be better). Back to the point, I’m having a big case of ‘I need to make a corset’ at the moment, and already have (almost) all I need to get one together (what I’m lacking here is steel boning, or simply spiral boning and busk, but those are really hard to get in my city and ordering from the internet would take too long of a time, and I’m quite eager here).
Anyway, what I really had to say is: as soon as my corset-making fever passes, I’ll be able to concentrate on the story and not get sidetracked like this again. Well, at least not until I have another fever like this.
P.S.: wish me luck, the only boning I can find in this corset-goddess-forsaken city is that plastic cheap thing that doesn’t really hold a thing (that’s why my first attempt could be better).

Another self-reminder

Just forget everything else and write!
Lately I've been too worried with what others think. So now I'm reminding myself that I just have to write and finish this story the best way I can. And this means that I don't have to please everyone with the end, 'cause I won't please everyone no matter what.
Chapter 36 on its way!

Self-reminder

Sometimes I just wonder what those things are all about. But then I remember, if it doesn’t make sense, that’s because it came from my mind, so that’s okay. It’s not that I never make sense of the things I say (write), though sometimes it sure as hell feels like that. Sometimes I just have to keep on going on, who knows what kind of sense it can end up having? Like right now. The first sentence made absolutely no sense when I started writing it, but I just had to keep on writing and wait until it started to take form and make some kind of sense (-ish).
That’s how it feels to start writing something. At first it may be just a rant, something with no meaning at all. But if you keep on writing, there will come a moment when you’ll stop, read and realize that it does have a meaning. It does make sense.
Of course it doesn’t work all the time. I still have a lot of documents in my computer that I started writing in just for the hang of it, and had to stop because there was nothing there that made me want to continue.
I’m not saying that as a bad thing. It is good to just open a blank document and start typing away. You don’t need to think about what to write, just let your fingertips do all the work. Type away whatever comes to mind without worrying about sense, reason, coherence (though I may want to say cohesion – I never really know how to differentiate them).
Sometimes that’s how I start a story. With no previous thought about it. I just open the document, start typing, and when I realize there’s an idea there that may turn into something good. Though that doesn’t mean that every one of these ideas will really turn into stories, it’s still good to know that sometimes, even if it is just in the beginning, the story really come to us.
It’s also good to have those documents when you want (are itching) to write, but when you open the story you’re currently writing (working in), nothing comes. You can’t seem to keep going on with the scene you stopped at. So you open one of the other ones (the good ideas) and give it a try. Do that just to alleviate your mind. After a while, go back to your real work in progress, and try again.

Explanation...

I just wanted to explain why there has been no update on Twisted Jealousy Game lately, and that's mainly because of a major block I'm having. Now, the good news is that I'm not giving up. I'm going to finish this story! So rest assured that you'll read the end of it, though I cannot tell you if it's going to be anytime soon.

It works!

It seems like complaining really works. I’m not sure exactly which one of my complaints really worked, but, today, like magic, all the stats that were missing in my traffic just showed up like if they had always been there. Go figure. I’m happy though. Now I can see how many hits and visitors I actually had since Set 13th.
Changing topic now, I’m getting to a point in TJG that might get some a bit angry at me. Don’t worry though, there’s a possibility that you’ll like what’s to come.
As to the sequel to FP, that has been put on the biggest hold ever. At the moment I’m not even sure if I’ll keep on writing anything after I’m finished with TJG. The ideas in my head are just too confusing to get any sense out of them, and without sense I’m not sure I even have a plot to work with. So, I promise to concentrate on what I have right now and finish what I’m writing. So, don’t get sad if I’m never able to get a sequel to FP done and posted.

... support team? what support team?

I'm actually doing my best to finish TJG, but so far fictionpress haven't been cooperating so well. It's not the first time, and it probably won't be the last, but the traffic statistics just stopped two week ago, on Monday 13th. The last time at least they put it back up in less than a week, but this time they are really asking to be hated. I don't really go around the internet looking for sites like fictionpress, the only other one I know is fanfiction, and I cannot post my stories there if they are not fanfictions (right?). But I'm really considering going for a site that has more support and actually answers the e-mails we send with complaints - even if it's those automatic messages - and also fix the problems in a shorter time. I've actually looked around fictionpress' forums and realized that lots of people already complained about the lack of activity on the part of the technical team (do they really exist at all, or they just care more about fanfiction?). I really hope these problems could be solved once and for all, it would be just too frustrating to go around the internet looking for another site with better tools.
I know that my words here might never reach the people who should read them, but at least I found a place where I can get them out and to the world.

Thoughts...

I’ve been trying to translate Forgotten Paradise to Portuguese, and while at it, I’ve been having quite some ideas to a possible sequel. I’m still not sure exactly what it’ll be about (though I already have some ideas to write from when I was still finishing Forgotten Paradise), and don’t have a title for it either. The only thing that I do know, is that it won’t be in Cait’s point of view (I thought about Lilah’s or even Kiara’s, but I’m still thinking, since I could use another character or even create a new one just for that… but I’m still thinking).
Also, I might start to post some things in Portuguese here as well. But when I do that it’ll probably just be a translation to something I wrote in English (on the same post).
Well, I didn’t have much to say, just that as soon as I’m finished with Twisted Jealousy Game I’ll start working on some sequel to Forgotten Paradise.
Damn! That’ll put all the other projects I have on hold. Again. I think I’m in great need of some thought management…

...so long...

Well, it's not like I've abandoned the blog or anything like that. But I recognize I've been neglecting it for a while. It wasn't on purpose though. It just happens that sometimes I'm not in the mood to write (and that's so not good for someone that wants to write a story right?). Sometimes I catch myself wondering if there's anyone out there that reads this blog at all. I know that someone reviewed a few posts ago, but that was just once in this blog's lifetime. Okay, I think I'm getting out of track now.
So, back to track (though I assure you there wasn't one when I begun writing this post), I should post more often, not only with anything about my stories, but also with a few things about my life. I know how much I tried to make this blog impersonal, but there's so much coldness in doing that and I know I wouldn't follow a cold blogger (at least not in that aspect). And, just to show that I'm trying, I created a profile on Twitter. I'm not sure yet if I'll use it as often as I used to use Orkut (which is pretty much abandoned), but I know I won’t use it for things related to my stories. I know there comes a separation in my stories and my personal life, but there’s a reason for that and it is that I do have a few friends following me there and I’ve never talked to anyone about my stories or my poems. So think how much of a shock it would be if all of a sudden they find out I write (or at least attempt to) and that not only I already finished a story but I’m on the middle of the writing process of another one. For some reason I don’t like the idea of mixing those parts of my life right now.
Well, just because they can’t know about my stories, it doesn’t mean you can’t know about me. So, I’ll put the link to my Twitter profile here, and feel free to check it anytime you want.

WTF?

The story seems to be taking it's course, but I still catch myself looking at the blank document with the cursor blinking on it without knowing exactly what to write. Sometimes it seems like the cursor's just mocking me, as if saying that I don’t know what to do anymore and that I should give up. But I insist. Even when I can’t write a thing in one document, I open another one and write something else. So, in the end, the cursor doesn’t win, and I, even without writing where I originally wanted to, still consider myself victorious in my success to write something worth it. But still, it looks like a deuce. I didn’t write where I wanted to, so the cursor wins, but I managed to write, so I win. This sounds more childish at every word I write.
Now, changing subjects to something more interesting (and also more serious), I've made a little progress in Twisted Jealousy Game, though I'm still getting along with some ideas I've had about the next chapter (the one I'm writing, not the one I've failed to post this weekend - sorry for that by the way). I swear, when I first thought about writing this story I hadn't think it'd be so hard. Forgotten Paradise was a piece of cake, and in some ways got me a little spoiled.

Updating!

So, just to let you know, I might be posting the first chapter to my new story anytime soon. I hope you guys like and leave me a review, so that I know if I should keep on going or give up all hope in this story. Though I do think it's a very good idea that I had I'm not sure if I can make it work as well as I'd like to.
I've been back home for almost two weeks now, and I kinda miss Australia already (mostly the friends I made and I'd like to see again, although I don't know when I'll be able to get back there). But a good thing is that now I have even more time to write and if my muse stops being such a pain in my ass and starts cooperating I'll be able to write quite a lot before vacations are over.
Wish me luck!

Just a brief...

So, this one is just to tell you guys that Forgotten Paradise is ready!! Actually it's been almost a week since I finished it, but I was too lazy to say anything (mostly too lazy to bother with posting something). I know that probably the ending I came up to the story is not going to please everyone, but, as I say in one of the last chapters' note, it was the best I could think up with the ideas I had in my head. I won't say that's not going to be a sequel, because I really thought about writing one, but right now I'm just not sure what to do with the things I had in mind, all I know is that it will probably not be in Cait's point of view (I'm really tired to write in her point of view, though it would be easier).
There are a few other stories in my head at the moment, but I'm not sure which one I'll post next (especially because I can't seem to make up my mind about the one I should focus on the most), but I can assure you they're mostly very different from Forgotten Paradise, not only on the main character, but the way the story is (supposed to be) conducted.
Thankfully, I don't think my friend is angry with me anymore, but just 'cause she's too stressed with the Cambridge exam thing (and her mother telling her that she can't just give it up).

Stuck!

I should've known that getting to this point of the story without planning what to do exactly would bring me lots of trouble. Right now I have a major writer's block that's been bothering me and keeping me stuck in chapter 65 for over two weeks already. Just thinking of all the writing I could've done during this time makes me sad. And I can't even brag about putting my other stories into motion because I'm mostly a nervous reck with all the preparations for my interchange travel (I'm going to Australia August 3rd, and still have lots of things to solve and prepare), so I'm basicaly in no writting mode lately (though I can't seem to stop thinking up new stories, most of them will never see the light of beeing written, but they do keep me company while I try to overcome the little problem I'm having here).
Well, going to try and get some work done here.

After so long

I know I've abandoned this for a while, but that is usualy what I do with my blogs, though I don't have the others online anymore to prove it.
I've been on vacation every since the beginning of December, and I did nothing especial with my time, besides trying my best to write some useful chapters of the curent story I'm working on (officially). My attempts at poetry lately have been quite crappy, so I'm mostly sticking with the poems I wrote a while ago, though they're not published yet.
I'm currently doing my best to finish Forgotten Paradise, thought I'm in no way rushing with the story (it didn't reach the middle yet, probably just a third of it). The main reason is that I have two new stories in mind, and I already begun to write them, but I won’t post them both at the same time, or else I know I’ll get crazy and the readers won’t have updates so often. Having to write more than one story and at the same time update them must be something frantic.
I also have a planned sequel to Wishing Dream, which I already started writing as well, but I’m not so sure about. Anyway, when it's finished I’ll post to see what people think of it.
About the poems, I posted a poem in Portuguese, just to realize that people don't usually read Portuguese fictions in FP (not even me, hehehehe). I’m not sure if I’ll continue to put my other poems (in English) in the same place or if I’ll separate them into individual publishing. Maybe the latter.
This is the last day of the year, a good year by the way. And it's so said to see that it passed by so quickly, and I didn't see most of it. Besides being a good year, it still didn't bring much change to my life, especially if I don't take into consideration the fact that I gathered enough courage to publish my trashy attempts at writing on the internet.
Well, enough rambling, I need to shower.

Gone

Finally, after a few day of struggling, I managed to get rid of my writer's block; yeah, I could finish the chapter I was so much dying to continue. And I should be celebrating, but I'm not. I'll though, when I finish this story; because that'll truly be a reason to celebrate, since I never finished a story in my whole life. I'm doing every single effort to keep on with the writing, but I know that sometimes I'll have to neglect it; times when I have to finish some college assignment and such.
Talking about stories, I updated Forgotten Paradise, chapter 24 (in my counting, in FP's 25) is up now. But I'm still a little late on the writing, I lost almost a week because of my block, and happen to be too lazy to do some proper work, but I'll not stop it, no matter what.
Anyway, the chapter is up, the story will continue to be written, and the other story I thought up will have to wait a little more; but, of course, I'll continue to post any one-shots I happen to come up with, and I already have one in mind.
So, nothing else to share for now, gotta go.

Block

Writers block. Yeah, it sucks! I’m stuck in a part of the story I really can't seem to get away from. I tried to think in a way to round this little situation, but all I get’s what will happen after. My muse’s playing tricks with me and my creativity’s hiding itself somewhere inside my mind. For now I’m just giving it a time, or else I’ll end up screwing everything up.The updates will continue though; every Thursday, unless I have some problem with my connection and such.
What can I say? It’s times like these that I wonder why I can’t write two stories at the same time; it would get me busy with one when the other didn't seem to work out. I tried, and it ended up with one of them being left behind; what I so don’t wanna do with Forgotten Paradise. That’s actually the first story I’m being so concentrated on; the others I just got bored and dropped, but this one I really like, and hope someone else likes it too; specially after it’s finished, because right now I know that some people do.
Well, nothing else to share; gotta go.

Reason to be

I'm really not sure why exactly I created this blog. But since it's already here, I'm goinna post some informations about my stories in FictionPress.
I'm not that talented writter, but I manage to like my own stories (actually not all of them, the ones I don't like no one gets to read); and the one in fictionpress is the one I'm curently working in, tough I've some ideas of a new story that I'll dedicate myself to as soon as I finish Forgotten Paradise. Speaking of wich, I'm still not so sure about the title, and I've no idea where it came from. But that's usually what happens to me.
So, chapter 22 of Forgotten Paradise will be posted on Thursday; tough I'm a little ahead on the writing, I can't overload you guys with the chapters, it won't give you time to get enough curious. But regarding the chapters, I really thought about posting two a week, spite of just one; of course I'm still thinking, 'cause I don't have that much time to write, and it'll get to a point when I won't have more chapters to post.
Nothing else to share for now.
